Breakfast Briefing: Managing a Safety and Environment Incident

13 June 2019   Brisbane

Safety and environmental incidents can occur on even the best managed projects and operations. However, there are actions which you and your business can take to prepare for and respond to safety and environmental incidents in a way which minimises legal and reputational impacts.

In this session our partners Paul Hardman (Safety) and  Kirstie Richards (Environment and Planning) will take you through a realistic hypothetical safety and environmental incident as it unfolds and explore:

  • Duties to notify regulators
  • Roles and powers of regulators
  • Managing sub-contractors
  • Incident reporting and document management
  • Media involvement
  • Managing workplace issues in relation to incidents
  • Protestor or other stakeholder management
  • A typical regulatory investigation
  • Potential regulatory outcomes and liabilities, including for directors and managers.

This session is designed for legal counsel, construction and project managers and safety and environmental managers.

Please to RSVP. Registration closes Monday 10 June 2019
